The Writing Workshop

The Writing Workshop presents a straightforward approach to the complex process of writing. This method is immediately applicable in both school and business settings. Workshop participants learn how to take their students through our simple yet elegant approach, integrating the processes of Active Reading and Guided Writing.

Through the use of Active Reading, participants

work with models by well-known authors,
analyze the techniques of these authors,
and learn how to help students develop critical analysis skills.

Through Guided Writing practice, participants

generate ideas,
develop and implement writing plans,
proofread, edit, and revise written work,
and give/receive constructive criticism.

Workshop participants leave with the materials and know-how to instruct their students/employees in this process. Included is the Writing Portfolio Organizer, a motivational management system to help learners set goals, stay on track, and create portfolios of written work.
